Goldman Sachs Bets $500M on Small Business AI

Goldman Sachs just committed $500 million to a new Small Business AI Institute — and brought OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta with it.

The Institute will train another 10,000 businesses through Goldman's existing program, with partners delivering free AI education:

• Google: AI Professional Certificate + 3 months free Google AI Pro for ~20,000 owners
• OpenAI: Workshops through community colleges
• Anthropic: Applied AI training for Goldman alumni
• Meta: AI tools via "Muse for Small Business"

Why it matters for NYC operators:

When 20,000 business owners get free AI training, the baseline for "normal" operations shifts. The competitive gap between AI-adopting businesses and everyone else widens fast.

Sam Altman put it bluntly: "AI will create the greatest boom in entrepreneurship and small businesses that the world has ever seen."

Goldman isn't doing charity — they're reading the market. The question isn't whether AI changes your business. It's whether you're ahead of the curve or playing catch-up.
